The D&E Assistant not only helped me drop 30 pounds
& 4 sizes but I also dropped 32 points off my cholesterol! I thought I had
a pretty good diet (I'm a vegetarian) and was always opposed to keeping a
food log because I thought it would be too time consuming. Your program
was so simple to use and to customize my own food choices. It helps me eat
the right number of calories, which I found I wasn't eating enough, and
I'm able to balance my carbs, fat and protein so that I'm eating optimally
for my exercise routing. The D&E Assistant has "trained" me to have
healthy eating habits for the rest of my life. My only suggestion is to be
able to add a customize exercise activity to the list. I use the
elliptical trainer often and I don't like to have to type it in each time.

I lost 30 lbs. in three months using D&E. I bought
both the Palm and Desktop versions. D&E allowed me to eat
whatever I wanted, as long as my caloric count AND exercise met my goal.
The key is that you have to be honest and true to yourself and record
EVERYTHING that goes into your mouth. The Palm version allows you to
record what you eat as soon as possible or even while you are eating. You
can also check on foods before you eat and decide if it is worth eating. I
drastically reduced the fat in my diet (oh how I miss fried chicken) and
lowered my intake of red meat. Just as important, I walked two miles a day
(about 40 minutes) on my treadmill 4-6 times a week. I began using D&E on
March 19, 2002. My goal was to lose 35 lbs by my 45th birthday (180 days).
I eat between 1500 - 2000 calories per day, limit carbohydrates to less
than 500, and fat to less than 50 grams per day. By mid-June, I had gone
from 235lb to 210lb, my waist size dropped from 42 to 36, and I can now
buy Large instead of XXL shirts. If you are willing to commit to a

The food database is complete. The product breaks
food items into the the USDA food groups based on the food guide pyramid.
This is the only product I know of that does this. As you enter the food
items you eat you can see if you are getting the USDA recommended amounts.
At first I didn't believe this is important, but I now know what the
government knows, you need a well balanced meal. If you eat well balanced
meals you will lose the weight and reach a fitness level you never though
possible. The food database is completely configurable, you can enter a meal
or any group of foods as you see fit. I LOST 26 LBS IN 4 MONTHS!
