Product Overview
The Diet & Exercise Assistant product
line is committed to providing easy-to-use software tools that help you manage
your daily nutrition, exercise, and health. Our personal healthcare products
help you achieve your fitness and weight loss goals.
With Diet & Exercise Assistant Desktop you can:
- Extend the functionality of the popular handheld
version. Diet & Exercise Assistant Desktop is designed for the power and
convenience of desktop computing. The user interface is creatively
designed for maximizing ease-of-use, power, and flexibility.
- HotSync® and ActiveSync® conduits are available, one
for Palm OS® and the other for Pocket PC 2002/2003® platforms. After
installing the handheld and desktop products, data from the handheld is
automatically kept in sync with the data on your PC. The synchronization
conduits are configurable, offering the following options: mirror
synchronization (default), handheld overwrites desktop, desktop overwrites
handheld, or do nothing.
- The desktop version supports multiple users with or
without a handheld device. Gather data for all users with a simple HotSync®
operation.
- Accessing and editing the food database has never been
easier. The new food database editor offers power, flexibility, and maximum
ease-of-use. Insert, edit, and delete food items faster than ever before. Create
your own food database entries and export them to a CSV (comma separated
values) file. Share the files with friends or family members who can then import
the food database information.
- Use your internet connection to obtain new food
database extensions. We are always upgrading our food database, now over
8,000 items with extensions. Simply select a menu item to automatically
update your food database to the latest version.
- Export your user data to CSV (comma separated values)
file. Import this file into Excel for further charting and analysis.
- Print data from the Food Log, Exercise Log, Daily
Journal, Summary Table, and Historic Weight chart.
- Use the long range historical weight chart to plot your
weight for the last 7 days, 14 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 5
years.
Standard features for both the handheld and desktop products:
- Input your personal information (height, weight, age,
gender, activity level), and the software will automatically calculate the
calories you burn during the day.
- Set nutrient targets by selecting from a list of diet
plans or create your own diet plan.
- Chart nutrients with a weekly or monthly histogram.
Each chart displays the actual and target value for a selected nutrient.
- Track your nutrition by monitoring calories,
carbohydrates, protein, fiber, fat and saturated fat. A large food
database with almost 10,000 food items is available with all of the nutrient
information to make tracking your nutrition easy.
- Customize the food database for your individual needs;
you can add, delete, or modify and food item in the database. The
nutritional information label on the back of most food products contains all
of the information you need to add a food item to the food database.
- Find food items easily with a new search feature.
The food database is designed for maximum look-up performance. Search
the entire food database or configure your own search parameters to make
searching even faster.
- Automatically convert the serving size of all food
items and drinks to any of the standard cooking units: pinch, teaspoon,
tablespoon, cup, pint, quart, gallon, liters, milliliters, fluid ounces,
grams, pounds, etc.
- Quickly toggle between nutrient totals and the percent
of calories from each nutrient. Nutrient information is totaled daily
and easily available on the food summary screen.
- Track exercise by selecting an activity from a large
exercise database. Input the minutes spent exercising, and the software
will automatically calculate the calories you burn based on your personal
information. If an exercise is not in the database, you can log your own
user-defined exercises.
- Use the Logbook to quickly summarize the calories you
have consumed from food and subtract the calories you have burned through
exercise, at work, and while resting. The total is then conveniently
compared to your goal for the day.
- Use the Daily Journal to input any notes you wish.
- Input blood pressure and the time of day when you took
the measurement.
- Input body measurements and watch your body shape
improve as you reach your weight loss goals. Quick help is available to
help you through the measurement process.
- Obtain an estimated percent body fat from the body
measurements.
